One of the countless bombs
During World War II, bombs were dropped everywhere on what served as battlefields, as well as in strategic places.
Throughout the conflict, more than 2.7 million tonnes of bombs were dropped on Europe by British and American air forces, wreaking havoc on Axis forces. Incredibly, 1.35 million tonnes of these bombs were dropped on Germany alone, devastating major regions of the country. Either way, Axis forces in Europe refused to surrender despite relentless bombardment until May 1945.
