This tiny green lizard can walk on water. And not only walk but also run on top of the water at speeds up to 5 feet per second. This natural power is attainable due to the long toes of the lizard’s back legs and more skin that traps little pockets of air between the foot and the surface of the water. Using its legs, the lizard whips around like windmills to come up with speed, and hold its tail up to keep in its weight. The lizards normally run on the water when shocked, and little lizards do it more frequently than older ones. It gives people and scientists the idea to call it Jesus Christ Lizard. Even from the biblical study, it is no good reason to call this lizard, Jesus Lizard. But after research, scientists now know the explanation for this lizard’s performance.
