One strange tree also found in the Amazon rainforest. Its fruit grows in the trunks of the tree. This Brazilian Grape Tree is a slow-growing evergreen that can reach a height of 15 meters if not pruned. It tastes like grapes too. The fruits are initially green and change to this darkish color when they are ripe. The flowers appear on the tree most likely twice a year. Rather than producing new shoots, these plants flower direct from the woody trunk or stem. Because of the fruits growing in the body of the tree, it makes other animals easy to get fruits here. They don’t need to climb high to reach their fruits. It is like jelly ingredients and juiced to make a drink. Can it be fermented and made into wine and strong liquor? The tree takes time to grow, but once it reaches maturity, it is worth it.
