The largest family of water lilies is called Victoria Amazonica. This variety of flowering plants has giant leaves up to 10 feet in diameter; it floats on the water’s top. Victoria Amazonica is often pictured with a small child sitting supported in the center. And it serves as a representation of their size and strength. This giant water lily only lasts for about 48 hours. The Victoria Amazonica or known as the giant water lily grows in the shallow waters of the Amazon River vessel as well as in Brazil is appealing. It looks perfect but also needs to be careful if you want to touch it because of its growing thorns on the bottom of the leaves. It is used to protect itself from fish and other animals that might want to eat it. Researchers did not mention that this giant water lily is an endangered species of plants.
