It’s funny how you learn about people stumbling upon ancient treasures by accident. While many archaeologists are looking for them on different dig sites, others just unearth them while building, renovating or excavating. These miners in Namibia found what they thought to be an ancient shipwreck.
The Forbidden Zone
Back in 1908, when a German prospector got to the Namibian Desert, he found a diamond. The region soon was called Sperrgebiet, meaning “forbidden territory.” Soon enough, Germans flooded the place to find diamonds… but the desert was hiding more than that.
