The Duchess of Cambridge rose to fame after joining the royal family. People love her and always gather in crowds if it means that they would be able to meet and greet her. However, she cannot sign autographs for fans. It is one of the rules all members of the royal family must follow. According to the rules of the crown, she can only sign official documents previously authorized by Queen Elizabeth II. There is, however, a very technical logic behind this particular rule that forbids all royal members from signing any autographs.
The reason for this rule comes from the fear that someone could forge documents on behalf of a member of the royal family. For this reason, only photos and handshakes are allowed. Not many or any one have or has seen the signatures of the royals, it is because they are kept secret so as to avoid any attempts of forgery. Imagine what bad guys could do with Kate’s signature. Keeping the potential risks in mind, it sounds like a very logical rule. They don’t want to risk it falling into the wrong hands. Prevention is better than cure, and that is what they are trying to stick to. We don’t blame them for this one.
