The rules Kate Middleton must follow prove that life as a princess is not easy!

She cannot reveal her child’s name before birth

There is a list of protocols to be followed when choosing a royal baby name. It is not a simple thing to do as is in ordinary households. One of the rules applied to royal baby names is that the parents are not allowed to make public the name of their baby before the baby is born and until the baby is officially named. Sticking to this rule, Kate was not allowed to reveal the child’s name before birth. As a result, the name of the couple’s third heir was not disclosed for long. The most cited names, until the chosen name was revealed, were Arthur, Albert or James.

The royal family has the world on their toes when it comes to the name of the new royal baby. Once the fancy easel is displayed, the towers light up, and the cannons go off, the public still has no idea of the royal heir’s name. It is because until the baby is officially named, no one else is supposed to know the name. Fortunately, this suspense only lasts for about two days, although Kate Middleton and Prince William waited three full days before announcing that they had named their third child Louis. There is another rule to take into account when naming a royal baby. That is, the name has to be approved by the Queen first.
