The rules Kate Middleton must follow prove that life as a princess is not easy!

No flashy nail colors

Do you think long before choosing a polish for your nails? Kate Middleton has doesn’t have a hard time choosing manicure colors because she has a minimum of choice, and it looks like all the colors are almost the same. According to the rules laid out for the ladies of the royal family, the Duchess should use a color palette only. The Queen deems bright colored nail polishes to be vulgar, attracting unnecessary attention to a lady’s hand. Hence this rule. If you ever wondered why you can’t recall seeing the fashionable Lady Diana in fancy nail polishes, this is the reason. Although the Queen approves of bright lipsticks, and has always been seen flaunting shocking colors such as cherry red, hot pink and others, she believes bright nail paints just shouldn’t be.

As we have noticed from almost all her public appearances ever since her wedding to Prince William, Kate’s manicure usually has two shades: Soft Pink 28 Rose Lounge (Bourjois) and Nude 423 Allure (Essie). Protocol says the Royals should keep their natural nails at official events. Even if the Duchess were wearing a palette nail polish, no one would be able to notice if she actually was flaunting any nail polish at all. Queen Elizabeth is a prime example, she has followed this rule for as long as you can imagine. She has been wearing the same enamel since 1989! It is not a princess who will be able to change this rule, a princess must remain as natural as possible.
