Harvard had a higher acceptance rate than Delta airlines in 2010. If you’re trying to become a flight attendant, the competition can be intense and you really have to be special to be hired.
In 2010, Delta announced 1,000 openings and received more than 100,000 applications. Only four per cent of these applications received a callback interview. Flight attendants have a fairly demanding job for very little starting salary (at least $18,000 per year). But if you have excellent customer service skills and think you can handle it, go for it! It certainly helps if you’re bilingual or multilingual, so work on your language skills if you want to work on board.
