23. 1966 Lamborghini Miura

Broke the mold as the first rear mid-engined two-seat sports car, which has since become the standard. The Miura was designed by Lamborghini engineers in their spare time even though company founder Ferruccio Lamborghini wanted nothing to do with it. Nevertheless, its chassis showed up at the 1965 Turin Auto Show, and the prototype a year later in Geneva. The press and attendees loved it, forcing Ferruccio to swallow his pride and put it into production. Despite being in production for 8 years, just 764 were built.
